This isn't fair you start writing wonderful things again just as soon as I stop checking by daily.

This was excellent. If I have any quibble at all its this - you really need to stop selling yourself short with the titles because this isn't at all bad for time travel fic. ;)

Titles are totally things that other people can think up for me, IMO. I just write stuff.

You know a fic is good when you find yourself talking about it to everyone you know the next day. When you can compare it to the portrayals in the comics and hit gold stars every time. When it makes you think of your own life and what you'd do if you had to go back in time to save their lives and if you'd screw their brains out or not.
This is a FANTASTIC STORY. It's a great love story, it's a great sexy story. It's a great action story when the narrative calls for it. It's a great Authority story, especially that last little kick-in with Apollo and his dad and the little touched notion of WHY the Authority (Apollo of course in particular) actually get up in the morning and give a shit.
You may be right on the time travel thing, though.

Fan-fucking-tastic. It gave me the shivers. You know its good when you can feel it in your gut. *sighs happily* Ok, so have you written more beyond these two stories? Do you have a journal somewhere or a website of your very own where i can go and plunder? Really fantastic. Perfect even.

Wow. That was *really* good. It was funny, and romantic, and sweet... and hot. Can't forget hot. I loved it! And both Midnighter and Apollo seemed to be more or less in character, which isn't always the case in fanfics. You have a really interesting writig style, and I enjoyed the entire fic. Loved the ending too. I'm glad you didn't go for the goody-two-shoes ending that I was expecting, where Apollo and his dad would have made up before the old man died, which would have been the obvious choice for most fanfic writers. Great fic all around. I hope to read more of your stuff in the future.

No, I went for the heavy-handed irony ending instead. The scene isn't about the relationship between Apo-lad and his father at all, really; it's just some wall-banging to allow the audience to grin smugly about Apollo being wrong.

Anyone who would've written that as a reconciliation needs to have their writing licence revoked, IMO.
